Ceramic Work

In 2008 I began working with potter Richard Godfrey at his studio in Devon. Approaching ceramics as a painter, I started working with slips and was amazed by the whole process. The beautiful thing about working with clay is the material itself, the firing and decorating processes and the knowledge that everything you do to a pot is totally inconsequential until it comes out of the final kiln, alive and transformed into something that in a way you have no control over. It's a form of acceptance that has helped me develop my attitude to other aspects of my work.
